MESSAGE FROM Dr. MANNY ALFANO, IAOVC FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT TO ALL IAOVC MEMBERS, COALITION ORGANIZATION MEMBERS & TASKFORCE
I was overcome with joy and a great sense of pride for the support our IAOVC Board Members displayed at our last Video Board Meeting. IAOVC Board Member, Frank Lorenzo, charged with researching legal means, introduced the concept of a network of Italian American attorneys, working in various states and municipalities, to institute litigation to correct the terrible injustices. This aggressive action is directed against those municipalities that voted to remove Columbus Statutes or where already removed. Mr. Lorenzo presented the qualifications of a capable and knowledgeable lawyer to head the IAOVC team locally.
It was stated that the legal team has identified three target municipalities and are preparing aggressive litigation. The attorneys have all offered Pro Bono services, however funds would be necessary to cover court costs and other related expenses.
The IAOVC Board then unanimously approved the aggressive program and the Pro Bono lead attorney. Then the twelve Board members went a step further by individually pledging five hundred dollars ($500) each to give the funding of the costs a head start.
WE NEED MORE MONEY TO SAVE COLUMBUS. I AM ASKING YOU, AS FELLOW ITALIAN AMERICANS, TO MAKE A DONATION TO THE CAUSE.
YOU CAN MAKE YOUR CHECK OUT TO IAOVC AND MAIL IT TO MANNY ALFANO AT 97 IRVING TERRACE, BLOOMFIELD, NEW JERSEY, 07003. OR, YOU CAN MAKE YOUR DONATION ONLINE AT: www.iaovc.org/donate/
Thank you,
Dr. Manny Alfano
