" Italian Americans must work together to defend our heritage and culture! We can not stand quietly by and let the media continue to stereotype and denigrate our ethnicity. It is an indisputable fact - there is no "Political Correctness" when it comes to Italian Americans. Stereotypical portrayals of Italian Americans as mobsters, mafiosi, bimbos and buffoons are ubiquitous. It is nearly impossible to find a POSITIVE portrayal of Italian Americans in the media. This is definitely not the same for other ethnicities and races. I, for one, will continue to defend our heritage - that is why I am dedicated to the Italian American ONE VOICE Coalition.
We must speak with ONE VOICE to defend our heritage.
