UNICO A.C.E.S.

The UNICO A.C.E.S. (Athletic, Cultural, Educational and Service) Club and their sponsors, the Belleville Chapter of UNICO National, celebrated their annual St. Joseph’s Day Altar at St. Thomas School in Bloomfield, New Jersey. People come from all over the state to participate in the traditional dinner of Pasta con Sardi, eggplant dishes, fruits, homemade bread, cookies and St. Joseph zeppoles. In return, the guests donate food and money. The event began with Mass and was followed by the blessing of the food and altar by Father Miller and a procession of St. Joseph (John Cataldo) and Mary (Carmela Miniverni). Standing in front of the St. Joseph’s Altar in the first row are from left, Jack Mitchell, CJ Palmisano, Alyssa Alfano, Ashley Alfano and ACES President Kaitlyn Kerr. In the second row from left are Christopher Mitchell Jr., Joseph Rella, Paige Massaker and Amanda Massaker. Joining them in back are from left, Carmela Miniverni dressed as the Blessed Virgin Mary and John Cataldo, portraying St. Joseph.
